The world as we know it today
is an interconnected global web
and has only been this way for a very
brief period in our history.
The majority of our history was spent in
isolation, waiting for an opportunity to
connect with them.
What connected the world
and formed the basis for trade today came
from a very unexpected source – the silkworm.
When silk was discovered, people travelled
vast distances searching for the source of the
amazing new product.
When they found the silk in China, roads were
created, Now known as the Silk Road,
to interconnect nations that had previously been
isolated for centuries.
The Silk Road open doors to the new world, where
new cultures, religion, knowledge, art and design
began to interconnect.
Some of the first diplomats
were the Envoys sent down the Silk Road to make way
for the traders to pass safely through foreign territories.
Our inspiration for Silk Road Hospitality and its
corporate identity has come from that story.
